The History of ECCR
In 1979 the European Blood Pressure Group was founded and the 1st meeting was held in Cambridge, UK. This was then followed by a number of annual meetings hosted in various locations across Europe.
In 1996 the European Blood Pressure Group began the rebranding by conducting research meetings for both Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Disease combined.
In 2004 the Society became known as the European Council for Cardiovascular Research (ECCR)
The ECCR which is a registered charity, now has over 250 members, including student memberships.
