Poster Notes

1. CONFIRMATION OF ACCEPTANCE

It is important that we know the name of the PRESENTER - Please ensure that we have the presenter’s contact details.

Should the presenter change at a later date, please let the Secretariat know immediately via: eccr@hamptonmedical.com

 

2. POSTER DISCUSSION SESSIONS

  • Presenters must be available at their posters throughout the Chaired Poster Discussion
 

POSTERS DIMENSIONS

The maximum dimensions for the 
posters are 1.4 metres high by 0.9 
metres wide.

Please try to ensure that the text of 
the poster is as clear as possible - it 
should be readable from a distance of 2 
metres.

The organisers will provide the Poster 
Number which will already be mounted 
on the board.

Posters will be mounted using Blu 
Tack, which will be supplied by the 
organisers.

IMPORTANT - Posters should be made 
from light-weight materials such as 
paper. Pins are not suitable to mount 
posters, only Blu Tack can be used.

MOUNTING AND REMOVAL 
OF POSTERS

All posters should be mounted before 
10.00hrs on Friday 14th October
2016 and removed by 14.00hrs 
on Sunday 16th October.

Poster presenters are reminded that 
they must register to attend the 
conference. Please click here to access 
the online registration page. Registration 
is now open!

Important:
Please ensure that you create a short PowerPoint presentation summarising your findings. This will be required for a short presentation if you are selected as a poster group winner

 

Oral Notes

1. CONTENT OF PRESENTATION

** IMPORTANT – Oral presenters are asked to include within their presentation two or three slides as a brief introduction to their talk, giving the background and goals of the study **                               

2. AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT

The following equipment will be available:

  • PowerPoint

    Computer projection suitable for PowerPoint presentations (resolution 1024 x 768, screen 4:3)                                                   
  • USB stick: 
    Please bring a USB stick for use with the following laptop provided by the organisers: Laptop Latitude E4300 4GB RAM, Intel Core Duo 2.4GHz, 150GB HDD D3H20F4J. Runs Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2010 Standard. Please also bring a backup copy of your presentation on a USB.
  • E-mail in advance: 
    Alternatively, you can e-mail your presentation in advance to the Organisers for downloading onto the organiser’s laptop: Email: eccr@hamptonmedical.com no later than 14.00hrs on Friday 7th October 2016. Please also bring a backup copy of your presentation on a USB.
  • Own laptop: 
    Presenters can bring their own laptops to the meeting; however, we would prefer if you brought a USB stick to avoid delays in the changeover of laptops between presentations. Please also bring a backup copy of your presentation on a USB.                                               


3. EMBEDDING FONTS
 

When saving your presentation, please follow these important steps to ensure that your fonts & logos are displayed correctly on our Show Computer - Click File -> Click Save As -> Within the Save As Window click Tools ->Click Save Options -> Tick Embed True Type Fonts -> Click OK -> Click Save

Your fonts & logos will now be embedded within your presentation.

4. PRIZES

The best oral presentation per day will be awarded a certificate in the closing session on Sunday 16th October 2016                                       

5. SPEAKER PREPARATION

Speakers should meet with a member of the events team in the main meeting room; La Rocca, at least ONE HOUR before the start of the session in which the presentation will take place. They should ensure they have handed over their presentations and are happy with the equipment available for their talk.                                       

6. TIMEKEEPING

It is very important that all speakers keep to their allotted time; 10mins presenting and 5mins discussion. The session chairmen will be briefed to stop speakers who go over their time.                                      

7. REGISTRATION

Oral presenters are reminded that they must register to attend the Conference.
